A short taster session to find out more about our Valuing Social Work course; A 2-day in person course for social work practitioners with at least 2 years in practice who are feeling disillusioned and disconnected to the profession and potentially facing a crossroads in their career.

About the Event
This taster session is open to anyone across Adult and Childrens Services within the West Midlands Social Work Teaching Partnership. Please see below our Partner organisations.
The Valuing Social Work course is a 2 day in person event which will be held once in the south of the region and again in the north.Â
It will explore:
- The pressures of the profession.
- The barriers to working in the way you aspire to.
- Things that undermine practice both professionally and personally.
- Strategies and leadership models for combating the challenges which arise in professional practice.
- Space to focus on the future of social work and your place within it.
The South cohort will be held on the 7th and 14th Dec 10-4:30pm in person at The Council House, Earl St, Coventry, CV1 5RR.
The North cohort will be held on the 19th and 21st March 10- 4:30pm in person at 1 Staffordshire Place, Stafford, ST16 2LP.
