About the Event

This course is open to anyone across Adult and Childrens Services within the West Midlands Social Work Teaching Partnership. Please see below our Partner organisations. Participants must be able to attend both dates. 

The Training will be held in person at 1 Staffordshire Place, Stafford,  ST16 2LP.

The course is focused on your development as a practitioner. Areas covered include:

  • The pressures of the profession.
  • The barriers to working in the way you aspire to.
  • Things that undermine practice both professionally and personally.
  • Strategies and leadership models for combating the challenges which arise in professional practice.
  • Space to focus on the future of social work and your place within it.

Sarah Redmond is an experienced social worker and trainer with 20+ years experience currently working as a shift lead and AMHP on an Emergency Duty Service with a background in Children’s Services. Sarah has lots of experience in teaching and training through roles as a Senior Lecturer at Staffordshire University and guest lecturer at University of Birmingham as well as training for the West Midlands Teaching Partnership and several local authorities.
