About the Event

This course is open to any Practice Educators/On site supervisors or anyone with a role in supporting students on placements across Adult and Children's Services within the West Midlands Social Work Teaching Partnership. Please see below our Partner organisations.

Whilst placements are core to a student’s learning, self-development, confidence and graduate success they involve significant change and can impact negatively on their mental health.

This course will consider:

  •  The impact of new settings, new challenges, new colleagues and additional costs.

  • The risks of placements negatively impacting on student’s wellbeing and mental health and their ability to access support.

  • Recommendations around preparing students for placement and supporting students whilst on placement.
