About the Event

This event has been developed specifically for Practice Educators and is open to members of the West Midlands Social Work Teaching Partnership. Please see below our Partner organisations.


"Professionalism in Practice Education: Supporting the Development of Professional Identity". 

Inviting all Practice Educators to enjoy a day of inspiring presentations and interactive workshops. A chance to network, maintain currency and share ideas with other Practice Educators from across the region in a wonderful conference venue with a delicious 3 course hot/cold buffet lunch. 


Speakers to include: 

Wayne Reid (BASW) on Professional Identity in Social Work 

Kath Morris on Wellbeing for Practice Educators and Students 

Social Work England on Updates in Practice Education. 

 

Workshops to include: 

Creative ways of working as a Practice Educator (co-produced with social work students) 

Maintaining currency 

Bringing the voice of the Person with Lived Experience into the supervision space. 

Practice Educator Reports -writing a good holistic assessment. 


The deadline to register your interest in this event is: 31st of March 2025. Spaces will be allocated equally across all partner agencies and confirmed by the 4th of April.


Arrival and welcome refreshments are from 9:30am, registration for events will take place the morning of the conference and are on a first come first served basis. The conference will begin at 10:00am. Please use the access requirements section of our submission form to share any accessibility needs you may have, including dietary requirements.


The venue is a 10-15 minute walk from New St, Snow Hill and Moor Street train stations 

 

Car Parking is available but must be booked on-line before attending (£9:50 per day). Details to be sent when places are confirmed. Please note the venue is within the Clean Air Zone.
