About the Event

This session will be delivered by Sue an expert by experience.


Sue will share her experience of domestic abuse, that led to a referral to mental health services and hospitalisation.  Sue will speak of her experience and her hopes and fears of both adults and children’s Services.

Sue will talk about how her abuser, convinced services that she was unwell, and how her voice was never heard.


The session will support practitioners to improve their assessment skills, understand the impact of coercive domestic abuse and consider how professionals can also be manipulated away from reality.


Sue participates in Co-production at Coventry University and co delivers the module  ‘Cumulative Harm’. Sue also participates in Co-production at Warwick University and delivers sessions with regards to her lived experience of Domestic Violence.


Sue is a survivor of Domestic Abuse and has lived experience of Mental Health services.
