Session overview:
In this session we will explore why race has become such a difficult subject to talk about, we will explore what race is and investigate when it started to be used by society and how this journey has shaped modern perceptions and attitudes towards race. We will also explore what causes bias and investigate the ways that we can combat it.
By the end of the course the learner will gain a better understanding of
How privilege works.
What causes Bias and how to address it.
What race is & why it is used to categorise people.
The impact of micro aggressions.
What are racist narratives?

Delroy Madden is a seasoned Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Consultant and the Chief Executive of DM Consultancy Services. With over two decades of experience spanning public, private, and therapeutic sectors, Delroy is dedicated to designing transformative learning experiences that drive systemic change. His work centers on anti-discriminatory practice, racial equity, cultural competency, and organisational development.
Delroy’s approach is trauma-informed, psychologically safe, and globally adaptable, empowering organisations to move beyond reflection toward sustained, measurable action. Through his consultancy, he supports teams and leaders in embedding equity into their culture, policies, and everyday practice.
