About the Event
Open to all Black and Global Majority social workers across Adult and Children's Services within the West Midlands Social Work Teaching Partnership. Please see our Partner organisations below.
As part of our Black History Month celebrations, we are hosting a dedicated event for Black and Global Majority social workers. This space has been intentionally created to offer attendees a safe and affirming environment to share their experiences, reflect, and connect with others who may have similar lived realities.
We recognise that conversations around race, identity, and professional experience can be deeply personal. By limiting attendance to Black and Global Majority colleagues, we aim to foster a space where participants feel able to engage in authentic and open discussions.
We appreciate your understanding and support in helping us create a respectful and empowering space for our colleagues.
Training overview: Join fellow Black and Global Majority social workers for an uplifting, reflective session where your voice, strengths and lived experience has a safe space. Through dynamic group discussions, coaching-style reflection and meaningful peer support, we’ll unpack real challenges and co-create strengths-based solutions.
Facilitator Bio: Le'Siran Edwards (pronounced Lisa-Ann) is a highly regarded expert in coaching and social work, with over 25 years of experience working with children and families, alongside a decade of coaching and social work leadership.
