COURSE AIM:

The aim of the course is to enable social workers to become Practice Educators.

ASSESSMENT METHOD:

This course will be assessed using a variety of methods which will could vary depending upon the module. The Coventry University Group assessment strategy ensures that our courses are fairly assessed and allows us to monitor student progression towards the achieving the intended learning outcomes. Assessments may include exams, individual assignments or group work elements. In practice, social workers are required to demonstrate a high level of reasoning based on best evidence; discuss, debate and reflect upon and test hypotheses; demonstrate extensive skills that are underpinned by theory and method; and be able to explore ethical dilemmas. They are also required to communicate clearly in focused notes and reports and articulate these decisions via a variety of media such as written reports, presentations and other mediums such as technology. The PgC Practice Education’s assessment strategy focuses on enabling you to assess prequalifying social workers’ ability to achieve these skills as part of their meeting the Practice Educator’s Professional Standards.
