Additional Train the Trainer Sessions Announced

The West Midlands Social Work Teaching Partnership is pleased to share details of additional Train the Trainer sessions available to Local Authorities, Trusts and HEIs within the partnership.

There are a range of topics which practice educators tell us they want to revisit and refresh regularly, many of which link into the PEPS. The Partnership has worked with Siobhan Maclean, Prospera Tedam, Jo Finch and Clare Stone to develop sessions and material covering these important topics. The partnership has arranged train the trainer days – where people who are interested in delivering this material in their own area will be introduced to the material and how to deliver it.

They will be provided with all the material required to facilitate the sessions. Nominated people will need to attend a Train the Trainer session which will support them in delivering the refresher course to Practice Educators within their organisation. This may be of interest to people who are already facilitating sessions for practice educators or for experienced practice educators who would like to develop their skills in delivering material to others.

Topics include:

  • Theory into Practice

  • Critical Reflection

  • Transparency in Assessment

  • PEPS/PCF/KSS update

  • Working with Diversity

  • The Practice Educator – Student relationship

  • Working with failing/marginal students

  • Supervision
